Everything should be as simple as possible, but not simpler

Albert Einstein

I love writing. Ever since I can remember, I would sit down and write. It could be about a fictional tale or my goals; it could be taking notes on a book or reflecting on the week.

Writing allowed me to escape in my thoughts. It allowed me to have a conversation with myself. Speak out loud (on paper).

With added friction as life gets real, I have had less time to write. I want to get back to writing.

Rule 3 of the Cardinal Rules of Behaviour Change is “make it attractive

That’s what atomic essays attempt to do. Atomic essays are short pieces of writing (250–300 words) that distils an idea to its simplest form.

It takes a true understanding of an idea to distil it into a short written piece.

If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself

Albert Einstein

That’s the attractiveness of it.

I am struggling with the challenge of organising my thoughts and structuring them in a way that makes sense to me. I know what it is that I want to say, but how do I say it?

If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter

Mark Twain

It takes time to process and think about what I want to say. It doesn’t take much effort to ramble on as I am doing now.

I am on this journey now. I will share my thoughts and work. If anything, it is an interesting experiment to see how the process of thinking and writing change over time. If nothing else, I get to practice writing again.

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking

Albert Einstein
